AGP owners rejoice! For those that are still on a AGP-based system can still get high-end video cards, ATI has released info on the new Radeon X1950Pro which is in both AGP and PCI-E formats. The AGP card is due to cost about $350 while the PCI-E one is cheaper. Looks like I won't need to make a new system after all. |

Hi Jake,
Thanks for the info, as I will be looking for a new card in the future. I have liked ATI cards right from my 486 days with the ATI All in Wonder card.

I agree Gimp, I always liked ATI cards since the day dad got his hotrod ATI Radeon 9800 Pro back in 2003. I love my Radeon X800 Pro.
Shame about the insane price though, I was looking at getting the Geforce 7800GS AGP back when it came out, but it's over $250! Thats more expensive than the more powerful 7900GS! |

the 1950 pro looks like a nice card...a 256 model of the xtx card, which is a 512 meg model...I have the 1900 xt 512 card...only problem I see with these faster cards is they do run warm, other than that they run the high end games sooooo smoothly. If your not gonna upgrade to a pci but want a better agp card these are well worth it...theres also a 1650 pro version out too |
